"The Piano is Firewood, Times Square is a Dream"

-Tom Waits.

I can post! How amazing. A long post (hopefully with photos) coming soon. It will have writings from the past month. Now I'm in Vietnam and I love it.

Time has gone all funny. I rarely need to know what day it is and find that my night dreams are changing in their scope and realism, perhaps with my own changing scope of wakeness.

"Just like the bamboo babies in the south sea tropic zones...
When it's too hot for comfort and you can't get a ice cream cone,
T'aint no sin,
Take off your skin,
and dance around in your bones..."

Land of Photos Last Shots

The last one is of Kumano Kodo, an ancient pilgrim's road that modern streets don't interrupt. Did you know that Arrested Development ripped off "Creep" on their album Among the Trees? I won't hold it against them, though, but they might consider losing the line, "Wag your tail for me," which is repeated several times in that song...

The Writer

Wooden boats, musical instruments and fireworks are some of the best inventions. And cameras. I don't believe in following any one person or set of ideas. There are tiny satiations like orchids along the viny forest floor, blooming unseen, more gorgeous than some could keep from weeping over. Whenever I see the occasional sun rise the colors always surprise me like the flavor of tahini in Holland. Subway cars make great rhythm along the tracks, as does wind in treebranches, the sound pattern of running engines, and sometimes clothes in a dryer. I like Sumerian poetry.
