Fallen Angels is fantastic. I love it. Especially Takeshi Kaneshiro's character, and the true comedy he helps portray along with Charlie Yeung. And the total effect of the camerawork, the music, the dialogue. Story in this film is not so important but the elements of story are strong, those subtle turns of tenor and vehicle found in real art...

photo posting must wait until i have my own computer.. i feel i pause at a hub that requires i make the kind of choice that reshapes everything.

glad you like it...i esp. like the part where he watches the videotape of his father...

yes, yes. the emotional closeness that is suppressed between father and son in the scenes while he was alive is touchingly apparent when he is shown on the video as watched by Kaneshiro's character. i thought that was beautiful.

The Writer

Wooden boats, musical instruments and fireworks are some of the best inventions. And cameras. I don't believe in following any one person or set of ideas. There are tiny satiations like orchids along the viny forest floor, blooming unseen, more gorgeous than some could keep from weeping over. Whenever I see the occasional sun rise the colors always surprise me like the flavor of tahini in Holland. Subway cars make great rhythm along the tracks, as does wind in treebranches, the sound pattern of running engines, and sometimes clothes in a dryer. I like Sumerian poetry.
