Notes From Me

I was sure the stars had followed us inside...

Went up to Cotati and Sebastopol Friday night, to visit friends and see another friend's band. I love love love all the scents in the air in Sonoma County, the Eucaplyptus-and-sun perfume, the deep dank of the earth and the fields, breathing it in. A huge sky with so many stars of so many colors, and an enormous peace accentuated by various bird and animal sounds. Perfect, to get out of the city for a little time and be in another world completely. On to Santa Cruz Saturday by bus, another bus, train, bus, and then Boulder Creek and the city once again. To come back, to love both.

Define and Concur, wild like cloudlight

The Writer

Wooden boats, musical instruments and fireworks are some of the best inventions. And cameras. I don't believe in following any one person or set of ideas. There are tiny satiations like orchids along the viny forest floor, blooming unseen, more gorgeous than some could keep from weeping over. Whenever I see the occasional sun rise the colors always surprise me like the flavor of tahini in Holland. Subway cars make great rhythm along the tracks, as does wind in treebranches, the sound pattern of running engines, and sometimes clothes in a dryer. I like Sumerian poetry.
