found by using negative space

as when drawing or writing, the whole picture is taken in only when considering also what is not there.

late summer/early autumn is my favorite season, at least some semblance of a season persists in the sharper, richer daylight and the pull of clarity.

today three friends will touch down from japan for a week. tonight is michelle's bon voyage on-the-town because she is going to london soon. now i must tutor a russian guy who has a great but wealthily-subdued enthusiasm for life, and intelligent ideas.

i think america is a complicated place. it is not ancient and simple because its ancientness got sidled up to by something brand new and dangerous. and interesting. america is not streamlined and gorgeously efficient. but i can like it better now.

yes, i wonder too

It is true. I have gone somewhere. It is strange but I do not these days have the patience to read fiction. That is a first. I pick up Faulkner that I haven't read yet, Wolfe, and I just look at the page. I guess it's like that with my blog as well.

I am getting ready to go to Paris for two months. It will not even cost much. I can sublet my friend's apartment for about $250 a month. And, have time to write...another first. So, I am now showing my new room to be sublet for October and November.

Another new thing: the International Socialist Organization. I'm not a socialist, but I am curious and have been seeing what it's about.

Currently having no television to watch movies, I haven't been doing that either.

I guess my question of the month is...who am I, really? Why is that more challenging than I would have thought?

The Journal

Define and Concur, wild like cloudlight

The Writer

Wooden boats, musical instruments and fireworks are some of the best inventions. And cameras. I don't believe in following any one person or set of ideas. There are tiny satiations like orchids along the viny forest floor, blooming unseen, more gorgeous than some could keep from weeping over. Whenever I see the occasional sun rise the colors always surprise me like the flavor of tahini in Holland. Subway cars make great rhythm along the tracks, as does wind in treebranches, the sound pattern of running engines, and sometimes clothes in a dryer. I like Sumerian poetry.
